Overview
ApplyKaro Autofill is a Chrome extension that helps users fill job application forms automatically using AI. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what stays on your device.
Data stored locally on your device
Your profile, extracted resume text, application tracker, settings, anonymous installation ID, cached credit count, and optional Anthropic API key are stored in chrome.storage.local. Profile and resume information is transmitted only when you request an AI-powered feature, as described below.
Data sent to our servers
When you request resume parsing, ATS analysis, autofill, or an AI-written application answer, the information needed for that request is sent to applykaro-nine.vercel.app and then to Anthropic. This can include resume text, profile fields, the job description, application questions, and form-field labels. ApplyKaro does not write these request bodies to its database or application logs. Responses are returned to your browser and are not retained by ApplyKaro.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
ApplyKaro's use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This information is used only to provide and improve user-facing ApplyKaro features. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or personalized profiling; it is not sold; and humans do not access it except when required for security, legal compliance, or support requested by the user.
Bring your own API key
If you provide an Anthropic API key, it is stored locally in Chrome. When you request an AI feature, the key is sent over HTTPS to ApplyKaro's no-store API proxy and used only for that request to Anthropic. ApplyKaro does not persist or log the key. Bring-your-own-key requests do not consume ApplyKaro credits.
Payments
Payments are processed by Gumroad. ApplyKaro verifies each sale with Gumroad and stores the anonymous installation ID, Gumroad sale ID, amount, currency, credits added, and timestamp to prevent duplicate crediting and support purchases. ApplyKaro does not receive or store card details.
Extension access
• storage — saves profiles, settings, credits, and the application tracker locally • activeTab — grants temporary access to the page you are viewing only when you open ApplyKaro • scripting — loads ApplyKaro's bundled form detector and autofill controls into that user-selected page • applykaro-nine.vercel.app — used for ApplyKaro API requests On the selected page, ApplyKaro reads form labels and, when needed for an AI answer, the current job description. It does not collect browsing history or monitor other tabs. ApplyKaro never auto-submits an application; you review and submit every form yourself.
Waitlist and aggregate measurement
If you join the launch waitlist, ApplyKaro stores your email address until you unsubscribe or request deletion. The website records a small set of aggregate counters, such as completed analyses, extension CTA clicks, and waitlist signups. These counters do not contain cookies, user IDs, email addresses, resume data, or browsing history. Temporary hashed network identifiers are used only to enforce abuse limits and expire automatically. ApplyKaro does not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.
Retention and deletion
Local extension data remains until you clear it or uninstall the extension. Payment records are retained for fraud prevention and purchase support. Waitlist emails are retained until launch, unsubscribe, or a deletion request. Contact applykaro@proton.me to request deletion of a waitlist email or payment record associated with your anonymous installation ID.
Children's privacy
ApplyKaro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
